I Met an Olympian Swimmer! #OnlyatFFT @FitterandFaster

I went to the Fitter and Faster Swim tour Clinic two weekends ago at the Phoenixville Y and I got to meet Klete Keller and Kara Lynn Joyce – both who were in the Olympics multiple times and won medals!

It was soooo cool!

I got a signed picture of me wearing their REAL OLYMPIC medals with them, a cap, and some other cool stuff.

First, we learned some dryland excersises and drills that will help our swimmimg. Then, we all got to get in the water and swam some with Kara and Klete. They taught us some drills and gave us tips on the flipturn. Next, we got to race them!! That was really fun. Finally, we got dried off and did some Q&A with them. It was amazing! If you are a swimmer and a Fitter and Faster Clinic is coming near you, it would definitely be a good idea to go and I think you will have so much fun!

we won the league champs!

In our league, Chester County Country Club Swim League ( C.C.C.C.S.L) , our team is Whitford. We beat every team in the league this year, and last. I’m so excited because 4 summers ago, we lost to Chester Valley and one year to Radley Run, too. That was when I was 6 and 7. When I was 8, last year, we beat every team and it was so exciting! this year, we did again! I hope we can beat everyone next year too!

I’m sooo excited!! I ran the little-over-mile race at Valley Forge National Park. It was really fun. My dad ran the 5 miler and got 2nd place!!! Also, my brother, Kyle, ran the race with me and got 5th. I ran 8:02 and won for the girls. I also technically won over all too, because my chip time was faster but I started at the back of the pack. But, it was sooo fun!!! We’re going back for the Junior Ranger program this Saturday. There was also all these little stations where we got free water, and first aid kits and stuff like that. And, for finishing the kids run, everyone gets a medal and certificate. We even saw my Uncle Bill there dressed up as a patriot soldier. He works for Valley Forge so it’s really fun when we get to see him. Did you know I’m a Daughter of the American Revolution too? Thanks so much Valley Forge!!!!

I Love Girls On The Run!!

Girls On The Run is sooo much fun!! I’m in third grade, so this is the fist year I could do it. My,best friend, Kate, has 2 older sisters and they’ve been doing Girls On The Run starting when Anna, who is 5 years older than Kate, started in 4th grade. Kate’s mom was a coach, so she had to come to GOTR whenever one of her sisters had it. She always liked it and I really wanted to try it. Finally, I’m in third grade so I can do it. My mom is a coach now too and GOTR is so much fun! We train to do a 5K at the end of the season, may 30th, and we learn how to be positive. We also have AWESOME energy awards. My favorite one is the Banana. What’s also really fun is that my other best friends, Ellie and Maddie, from 2nd grade, who are also in my class this year, are doing GOYTR too. After school, every Monday and Wednesday we have GOYTR. We go down to the Gym and eat our snack and talk. It’s always really fun. Once, Maddie tricked me into saying I had no idea who MRW was, and she said they have really big hand writing. Later, I figured out it was her! Her initials are MRW for Madeline Rose Witcoski.Today at GOYTR, we learned about the star inside of us of the positive, and the cloud that comes in of the negative. It was really fun because we got to lay down and visualize and myy mom was the main coach for the activity of being clouds and stars that we did at the end. She was an awesome coach. I love Girls on the Run!!!

I love Cornell!

I went to Cornell this weekend, the school where my mom and dad went to college. It was soo fun! We stayed at The Best Western . It is soo awesome there! We had a great room with two queen beds, and a fireplace! Uncle Artie told us that there’s even a room with a hot tub in it and one of the college track runners was traveling for her meet and her flight got canceled and she stayed there and got the hot tub.

On Saturday, dad went to a meet at Barton Hall. He ran the mile. He got third and what’s really cool is that he used to run there in college and almost exactly 19 years ago, he ran his very best run ever for the mile at Harvard. He ran 4: 15! This time he ran 4:38.86. Here’s a picture of the score board:

My Swim Ad

I love swimming!!! You can see a poem I wrote below. Dad helped me put it on a picture of me swimming freestyle so it would look like a cool Nike ad. Isn’t this cool????

THE POOL IS MY STAGE. There’s no acting involved, but there’s plenty of drama. My competitors are the cast. My coaches and teammates are the crew. My mom wrote the script, my dad did it too, it’s a lot of relaxation, but there’s plenty to do! AND ACTION !

Big Win For My Swim Team!!!

My swim team, Whitford, had a swim meet a couple of days ago against the team that beat us for the last six years, Chester Valley, and we beat them!!!!! The score was Chester Valley,210, and Whitford, 218!!! We literally won by one relay. ( 7 points)

It was really fun but it was a tough meet because I went against some of my friends from winter swimming, friends from school and my best friend in school and our neighborhood, Kate.

I Broke a Record in Butterfly!!

I’m so excited!!!!!! I broke the Whitford Team record in a 25 meters (one lap) for 8 and under girls of butterfly!! The record was 18.64 and I broke it by doing 18.48. I can’t believe I did it! I improved so much from last year! You can see the video of me swimming above. My →

My First Track Meet

I love to run!!!! Last Saturday, I went to my first track meet. I ran a 1500 and did really good. That’s almost a mile. I ran 6.24 and was really tired at the end.

I had to be in the 10and under age group instead of 8, but I still won my age group. I got second in the heat, and I think I’m going to get a medal.

It was really fun.
